'set your goal' daruma postcard II

£14.00

Daruma figures are a common new year tradition in Japan, where they are used as a way to help you achieve your goals. The paper mache dolls are sold ready painted, but missing the black pupils in the eyes. When a new doll is bought, the new owner paints in one eye pupil, whilst thinking of a particular goal or resolution and then sets the doll in a place that they will see it often and be reminded of the goal they are trying to achieve.

When your goal is reached, or resolution fulfilled, the other eye can be filled in. It is then often returned to a shrine to be burnt.

Postcard Daruma:

Think of your goal or resolution and colour in one pupil with a black pen.

Pin the postcard somewhere you see often, such as above your work space. When you have achieved your goal or resolution, fill in the pupil of the other eye. You can then either keep the postcard as a reminder of your achieved goal, or recycle and move on to your next goal!

Perfect as a small New Year gift also.

Sold in packs of four, with four explanation slips.

Individually printed to order from hand cut stamps onto recycled card, with gold painted details.
